About
Cross-Crit emerged from the Cross Crit Group, which facilitated inter-school exchanges of critiques between different institutions, practices, and mediums for Te Moana Nui artists. It addressed a significant gap within institutions, which often lack the capacity to foster meaningful feedback in critiques.
Papa 🕳
is a collection of notes taken during critiques from my BFA studies at Whitecliffe (2020–2022). These notes have been processed and laid atop a concrete slab, supported by Ashleigh Taupaki’s collection of rocks. The work invites interaction—visitors are encouraged to pick up and take away the notes, transforming the act of critique into an exchange that continues beyond the gallery space.
