About

This body of work titled TAU, consists of a series of wānanga: a place of sitting together to find methods of engaging with and through each other again after lock down due to the corona virus.

The show description:

“As we come out of noho tāpui/lockdown and enter back into spaces outside of our immediate bubbles, questions have come to mind surrounding the methods of re-integration. Taking a direct response from our current circumstances here in Aotearoa, this project is underpinned by three questions: How might we act in place now? Inter-act with place now and then with each other?

These questions are explored through the framework of mātauranga māori, specifically from the standpoint of a Ngāti Te Ata wahine. Firstly, by giving acknowledgement to the whenua, the land, the ‘place’ laying under the Audio Foundation space where this show will be held. Secondly, for all proceedings within this space to be guided by the māramataka, the māori lunar calendar, in preparation towards Matariki, the Māori new year occurring this month (June).”
